Yemen, Local, 1/28/1999

An official source in Aden said on Wednesday that Yemeni tribesmen kidnapped three Germans, including two women.

The Yemeni official source added that the kidnapped are a German woman, her brother and mother, adding their kidnapping was carried out in Omran province in northern Yemen where the German woman works in one of the province's hospitals.

The source added that no details were given on the exact time of the kidnapping, but the Yemeni authorities knew about the operation in the early hours of Wednesday.

The German embassy in Sanaa noted the news of the kidnapping but refrained from giving any details.
