Moussa calls for diplomatic solution to Iraqi crisis
Egypt-Regional, Politics, 1/27/1999
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa reiterated there is a clear Arab position opposing military action to deal with the Iraqi crisis.
In answering reporters questions yesterday regarding continuing clashes involving US and British military aircraft in the no-fly zones in Iraq he said, "There is an Arab clear stance that demands reaching a diplomatic solution only for this crisis, which is very obvious in the statement issued by the urgent consultative meeting of the Arab foreign ministers."
Answering a question whether the disputes that took place in the meetings of the Arab League's council could affect convening an Arab summit, Moussa said, "The final result of the meeting of the Arab League's council is a positive one."
