Syrian loan agreement with AFED

Syrian Prime Minister Mahmoud al-Zou'bi on Tuesday received the director general of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development Abdul Latif al-Hamad.
Talks dealt with the fund's activities and the projects being carried out in Syria in cooperation with the fund.
Earlier in the day, the deputy premier for economic affairs, Salim Yassin, received al-Hamad. Later in the day, a loan agreement was signed between Syria and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development was signed at the state planning commission in Damascus.
The fund will offer 30 million Kuwaiti dinars to help finance the Lattakia - Ariha express road project in Syria. The agreement was signed by Minister of State for Planning Abdul Rahim al-Sebe' on the Syrian side and the fund's side was represented by al-Hamad.
The project aims at developing road transport services between Lattakia and Aleppo as well as updating express road networks in Syria.
