Iraq supports relations with Asia in semi-protest
Iraq-Regional, Politics, 1/26/1999
Nabeel Negm, the undersecretary of the Iraqi foreign ministry, said that his country will support its relations with Asian countries, especially its economic relations.
Negm stated that the new Iraqi movement comes in light of the Arab position, which does not fulfill the Iraqi people's demands and does not stand by Iraq in facing the US attacks and the siege imposed on it.
Negm also said there is an Iraqi movement to reduce the level of Iraq's representation at Arab League meetings.
Negm described the concluding statement of the Arab foreign ministers by saying that it does not fulfill the Iraqi demands, especially in condemning the American - British air strikes against Iraq in December.
