Palestinian Fatah movement accuses Libya of confiscating its properties
Palestine-Libya, Politics, 1/26/1999
The Palestinian Fatah movement accused the Libyan authorities of detaining some of its cadres and confiscating their properties.
Atef Zaki, the spokesman for the movement, stated in Beirut yesterday that, "Some cadres residing in Libya were detained during last August and their funds as well as properties were confiscated."
The movement appealed in a statement to Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi to release the detainees as well as to deliver the movement's funds deposited with the concerned Libyan department.
The movement also said that some families were also detained in a security campaign, and it expressed its astonishment at the Libyan procedures which it said contradict all expectations.
