Iraqi dailies criticize Arab foreign ministers' decisions
Iraq, Politics, 1/26/1999

Iraqi dailies (which reflect official positions) published on Monday attacked the decisions adopted in the meeting of the Arab foreign ministers, which was held in Cairo on Sunday, noting that these decisions give the cover for "the continued US-British aggression against Iraq."

The Iraqi daily al-Qadeseyah said the position taken by the Arab foreign ministers shows the extent of the US impact and control of the events of the conference. The Iraqi paper added that the "minority" which belongs to the US in the conference has imposed its conspiratorial stand on Iraq on "the silent majority" in the conference.

For its part, the Iraqi daily al-Qadeseyah said this "bad stand" in reference to the position of the Arab FMs, gives the US a cover to move against Iraq at the UN Security Council, on the one hand, or to repeat the military strikes on Iraq whenever it likes, on the other.
