Israeli forces attack south Lebanon

Israeli occupation forces on Monday shelled, using heavy artillery, the woods of Sujoud al-Rayhan and Aqmata farm in the al-Tuffah district. Lebanese security sources said the bombardment was in conjunction with intensive flights by Israeli warplanes, which launched provocative raids in the al-Nabatiyah and al-Tuffah districts and Sidon, where they broke the sound barrier twice Monday morning.
Meanwhile, Lebanese resistance forces on Monday morning carried out a series of operations against Israeli positions inside the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese resistance sources said one of its groups on Monday night attacked an Israeli patrol backed by tanks, and the confrontation lasted over an hour. The sources said the action took place at Alman farm, in the Litani river area and hit five members of the patrol who were either wounded or killed.
The resistance sources added that a second resistance group attacked armored vehicle movements inside al-Sal'a position and its surroundings early Monday morning.
A third Lebanese resistance group attacked an Israeli force while moving along Barachit road early Monday. A force from the Barachit position tried to give support to the Israeli force but a fourth resistance group prevented this support from arriving.
The Lebanese resistance said its groups achieved accurate strikes on members of the Israeli troops in the three positions.
Further reports from south Lebanon said the Lebanese resistance on Monday afternoon attacked an Israeli position in Ballat.
The resistance said in a statement that two separate resistance groups attacked the position, using machine guns.
Moreover, Israeli troops expelled two Lebanese prisoners who were already released from al-Khayam jail along with another 14 prisoners on Monday before noon.
Israel is detaining 183 Lebanese prisoners, out of which 140 are being held at al-Khiam jail inside the occupied Lebanese lands and 43 are inside Israel.
