An agreement to dump Israeli nuclear wastes in Mauritania desert
Morocco, Politics, 1/26/1999
The Moroccan paper "al-Ahdath" has asserted, quoting sources which it described as "well-informed," that there is an agreement between Mauritania and Israel to dump wastes from an Israeli nuclear reactor in the Mauritanian desert.
In its Monday issue, according to the well-informed sources, the paper reported that several planes of unknown identity landed in "Tid Jakjaka " district in the "Tagant" region of eas centralt Mauritania, a matter which reinforces what had been stressed recently by Mauritania's opposition on an Israeli-Mauritanian agreement in this respect.
In its previous issues, the paper reported on the dimensions of the visit paid by Mauritania's former foreign minister and the current Prime Minister to Israel.
