Iraq discusses measures against Saudi Arabian, Kuwaiti stances
Iraq-Regional, Politics, 1/26/1999
Chairman of the Arab and foreign relations committee at the Iraqi National Council (Parliament) Khaled Shehab al-Douri on Monday announced in Baghdad that the parliament will discuss today means of taking measures to confront what he called "the aggressive stances of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait concerning Iraq."
Al-Douri accused Saudi Arabia and Kuwait of preventing the release of a stand in solidarity with Iraq during the meeting of the Arab foreign ministers which was held on Sunday in Cairo.
Al-Douri added that this "destructive role is not new for Saudi Arabia and Kuwait," saying that "since their own existence they worked in compliance with the wills of the Americans and the British."
