Quarter million land mines in Jordan

A United Nations team specializing in dismantling land mines discussed on Sunday with the Jordanian Army's chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Abdul Hafez Mu'ri, the volume of land mines in Jordan whose number is estimated at quarter a million and provided chances to eliminate these mines.
The two sides discussed studying requirements of victims of land-mines who are disabled, and resettling population in areas implanted with these mines and delivering humanitarian aid to them.
Land mines are deployed in the Jordanian territories which are adjacent to the occupied Palestinian territories.
