Toujan al-Faisal: US recommended King Hussein on crown prince question
Jordan, Politics, 1/25/1999
The French daily Le Monde quoted former Jordanian parliament member Toujan al-Faisal as saying the US was the one who recommended that King Hussein take a decision concerning the title of crown prince.
Al-Faisal asserted that this is the case because Prince Hassan "has not the same loyalty shown by King Hussein" to the United States which, thereby, wants to impose Prince Hamzeh in order to rule themselves the Kingdom through Queen Noor, current wife of the Jordanian King, who is an American of Syrian origin.
Le Monde added that Jordan is a major player in settling the cause of Palestine.
