Israeli forces escalate aggression against south Lebanon

Israeli occupation forces on Sunday bombarded several Lebanese towns in south Lebanon and the western Bekaa. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli artillery bombarded the surroundings of the deserted army barracks in al-Nabateyeh, al-Fawqa, and Kafer Tabnit in south Lebanon.

The Israeli occupation forces also bombarded Jabal al-Daher and Jabal Qelya in the western Bekaa. In retaliation the Lebanese resistance bombarded the occupation position in Tallat Ein Qenya.

Meanwhile, Lebanese resistance forces on Sunday morning attacked positions of the Israeli occupation forces in Hadatha inside the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese resistance sources said its forces also attacked the occupation position in Rashaf.

On Saturday, the Israeli occupation forces continued their attacks on areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the occupation forces on Saturday afternoon targeted Jabal al-Zaatar and the outskirts of Barachit. In retaliation, the Lebanese resistance attacked the Israeli occupation position in Tallat Barachit, using machine guns and rockets. Direct hits were achieved on the position.

The Israeli forces' heavy artillery on Saturday pounded the heights of al-Daher mountain, Meimas crossing and the outskirts of al-Dallafah town in the western Bekaa.

Lebanese security sources said the bombardment was carried out in conjunction with intensive flights by Israeli reconnaissance planes over Jabal al-Daher hills.

An Israeli bulldozer was used in the construction of a military road on the northern side of Kawkaba hill.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese national resistance attacked the al-Ahmadeyah position in the western Bekaa, using machine guns and rockets. In a statement, the resistance said direct hits were achieved on the position.

In the afternoon, the Lebanese resistance attacked Israeli positions in Ein Qenya and Zamraya inside the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese resistance sources said the attack on the two positions was in retaliation for Israeli troops' bombardment of populated houses and villages in the western Bekaa. The statement added the attack on the two positions achieved direct hits.

Further reports from south Lebanon said that Lebanese resistance forces continued to carry out operations against Israeli troops in retaliation for attacks launched against Lebanese villages. A statement by the resistance said a Lebanese resistance group on Saturday evening attacked an Israeli military position in al-Ahmadeyah area.
