Head of Japan's overseas cooperation agency meets Moroccan fishing minister

Moroccan Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Rural development, Thami Khiyari conferred Wednesday here with head of the Japanese Agency of Overseas Cooperation, Fujita Kimio, on ways of fostering cooperation between the two sides in fish farming, vocational training and scientific research.
The two sides also reviewed the sound and secular friendship ties binding Morocco and Japan as well as Morocco's sustained efforts to modernize its economy, agriculture and industry.
The Moroccan official and the Japanese executive stressed the need to diversify cooperation projects and identify priority sectors needing further Japanese assistance and know-how.
Japan is assisting Morocco building pilot fishermen villages within the frame of a large-scale bilateral cooperation program providing for the consolidation of cooperation in seamen vocational training, engineering, halieutic resources protection, fish farming and processing.
