Qatari Emir visits Tunisia after visiting Jordan

Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani started a visit to Tunisia after participating in celebrations of the return of Jordan's King Hussein to Jordan.
President Zine El-abidine Bin Ali of Tunisia and the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-thani, have discussed several bilateral and Arab issues of common concern, especially the crisis between Iraq and the international community, the Tunisian News Agency said on wednesday.
The Agency quoted a presidential spokesman as saying that President Bin Ali reiterated Tunisia's support to efforts aimed at holding an Arab Summit to discuss the crisis and other Arab issues.
The spokesman said that the two leaders also discussed the Middle East peace process and the situation in the Arab Maghreb.
The Tunisian President also underlined his country's keenness for the establishment of fair settlement of the Libyan Lockerbie crisis.
Meanwhile, Tunisian ambassador in Qatar Mohammed El-Balagi said that Tunisian Defense Minister Habib Ben Yahia will visit Qatar in February, adding that he will hold talks focusing on supporting the ties between the two countries.
The Qatari Emir's current visit to Tunisia is his second since he assumed power in 1995.
