Observatory for camel diseases in Tunisia

The Camel Research and Development Network in Damascus, a project of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD), is to establish an observatory for camel diseases in Tunisia, whose goal will be to monitoring plagues and diseases that threaten camel production in the countries belonging to the network.

Dr. Mohamed Fadel Warda, the network's manager, told ArabicNews.com that the network's program for 1999 includes training sessions in Tunisia and Egypt to develop camel production. The workshops will be attended by delegates from the countries participating in the network.

Additionally, the program is to convene three symposiums, the first in Morocco regarding camel nutrition, the second in Sudan concerning camel diseases while the third in Tunisia concerns the economic and social conditions for camel breeders.
