Gulf states to produce 29 million tonnes of natural gas by the year 2000

The gas and petroleum department of the Gulf Cooperation Council expected in its new study that the GCC member states' production of natural gas would reach nearly 29 million tonnes in the year 2000. The study pointed to the probability of increasing this quantity to reach 34 million tonnes in the year 2005. The study also said that the Gulf states contain 45% of the world's supply of petroleum and 15% of its gas reservoirs.
