Lebanese figures stress cooperation with Syria as Lebanon's choice

Lebanese Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Rashid Qabbani has asserted Lebanon's adherence to its relations with "sisterly Syria" and to the unity of Syrian-Lebanese peace tracks and destiny.
The Lebanese Mufti also stressed the importance of liberating south Lebanon and the western Bekaa from Israeli occupation as well as of supporting the Lebanese resistance.
In the sermon he gave on Monday in Beirut on Monday on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Sheikh Qabbani called upon all Lebanese people to take part in the process of rebuilding their homeland.
For his part, chairman of the Higher Shiite Council in Lebanon, Sheikh Muhammad Mahdi Shamseddine stressed in the Eid al-Fitr sermon on Monday that "coordination, cooperation and solidarity between Syria and Lebanon is a Lebanese choice."
