Symposium on effects of the euro on Egypt's economy at the end of January

Egyptian Businessmen's Assembly is to hold a symposium at the end of the current month dealing with the new European currency, the euro, and its effects on the Egyptian economy.

The secretary general of the assembly, Taher al-Sherif, stated that during the symposium they are going to discuss the prospects for dealing with this new currency and its future relations with other main currencies -- specifically the dollar and yen -- and the effect of this dealing on Egyptian foreign and internal trade and on Egypt's reserve of foreign currencies.
