Egypt prepares to convene a regional economic conference of COMESA countries

Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation Dawlet Hassan confirmed that the Foreign Ministry along with the international economic forum in Egypt are currently preparing to convene a regional economic conference comprising officials and businessmen from all COMESA countries during the current year.
Hassan said that the countries of COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) in their recent ministerial meeting unanimously accepted the call of Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa to convene a regional economic conference comprising officials and businessmen from all COMESA member states.
She added that as Moussa said, the aim of this conference is to upgrade and boost economic and commercial communications between businessmen in the COMESA states and increase volume of works and investments and promote the mutual interests of the COMESA countries.
