Jordanian trade unions call for resisting normalization
Jordan, Politics, 1/15/1999
Jordanian vocational trade unions called for establishing a central committee to resist normalization with Israel. They said the central committee should be in charge of monitoring all forms of normalization.
They also called for reforming and expanding the higher Jordanian national committee to protect citizens and confront normalization so as to bring together all normalization forces and committees on the national level.
In a memorandum sent by chairman of the trade unions' normalization resistance committee, Ali Abu al-Sukkar, to representatives of the forces, parties and figures responsible for the higher committee, he stressed the need to get the trade unions involved in resisting normalization in any respect.
