Lebanese premier condemns Israeli aggression on south Lebanon
Lebanon, Politics, 1/15/1999

Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss has condemned the continued Israeli aggressions against the Lebanese areas and the expulsion of Lebanese families from the towns and villages of south Lebanon.

At Wednesday's cabinet meeting the Lebanese Premier stressed that the Israeli aims behind these repeated terrorist acts are to deplete south Lebanon of its inhabitants.

For his part, Lebanese Minister of Information Anwar al-Khalil said that Lebanon will continue making international contacts to counter the Israeli aggressive intentions.

In a statement he made on Wednesday in Beirut to reporters, al-Khalil said Israel has aggressive intentions against Lebanon. He added that his country is making contacts with countries who can pressure Israel and curb its violations of UN resolutions.

The Lebanese minister added that the climate is not suitable for filing a complaint with the UN Security Council against the repeated Israeli attacks on south Lebanon.
