Arab League condemns Israel's policy in Arab territories
Regional-Israel, Politics, 1/15/1999

The Arab League has denounced the policy conducted by Israel in demolishing Arab houses in the Palestinian territories. In a statement issued in Cairo on Wednesday the Arab League asserted that the Israeli practices exceeded those acts of atrocity carried out by Nazis during the 1940s.

The statement described these Israeli acts as grossly violating provisions of the 1949 Geneva Convention as well as international law and human rights principles.

The statement referred to the Israeli policy which has among other things turned over 10,000 Palestinians homeless.

The AL, moreover, called on the international community to shoulder its responsibility of confronting Israel's aggressive practices and compel it to honor legitimacy resolutions.
