Regional, Politics, 1/14/1999
The quorum to convene the Arab foreign ministers' meeting that is to be held on January 24 under the chairmanship of Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa has been completed.
A source in the Arab League said that 19 Arab states have given their approval to taking part in the meeting, except three countries who still have not agreed: Libya and Iraq, whose situation will be discussed at the meeting.
The source added that Palestinian President Yasser Arafat is expected to participate in the meeting to enhance the Iraqi situation.
Yemen is the first one country to call for convening the ministerial meetings so as to prepare for an Arab summit in which Iraq would take part.
