Libya announces tangible practical steps in Lockerbie issue

An official source at the people's general committee for foreign communications and international cooperation (Libya's Foreign Ministry) has announced that important and practical steps have been reached toward dissolving the Lockerbie crisis.

The source added this was attained during the talks held by the envoys of Saudi Arabia's King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz and South African President Nelson Mandela on Tuesday night with high-ranking Libyan officials.

The Libyan official source added that all sides concerned have the "goodwill" to cooperate to settle this issue, adding that great strides have been achieved towards solving it.

The source added that efforts continue as well as consultations to overcome obstacles still hindering in this respect.
