Works of the Arab round table conclude regarding European partnership

Meetings of the Arab round table will be concluded today regarding partnership agreements with the European Union, which were held over two days in the headquarters of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

The meetings were attended by heads and representatives of negotiating bodies in the Arab Mediterranean countries. The meeting was headed by Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Gamal Baioumi.

In it session, the meeting tackled the rules of the Mediterranean - European talks, its protocols, the probability of adopting those rules on a unified Arab level. Also discussed were the Arab states' negotiations in the partnership with the European Union and coordinating it to benefit from experience in the framework of establishing an Arab - Mediterranean free trade zone in the year 2010.

Representatives of Lebanon, Syrian, Morocco, Tunis, Algeria, Libya, Jordan, Palestine participated in these meetings in addition to Egypt.

This meeting comes before the expanded meeting for experts from 27 countries in the Spanish city Valencia on January 26 - 26 to discuss the European - Mediterranean track in all its aspects.
