Kuwait carries out intensive military training

Director of the morale guidance in the Kuwaiti Army, Col. Ahmad al-Rahmani, has asserted that the Kuwaiti Army is currently holding intensive training with US forces on the northern borders and that it is ready for any emergency.

He continued that the Kuwaiti military units are on their maximum alert.

In a statement to the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am, al-Rahmani added that coordination and consultation continue between Kuwait and its allies on ongoing developments.

He continued that military units in northern Kuwait have been reinforced in light of recent threats launched by the Iraqi government that it may withdraw its recognition of its borders with Kuwait, noting that the "situation is under full control and the northern borders are calm."
