Khatami visits Saudi Arabia before al-Haj season

Iranian President Muhammad Khatami will hold an official visit to Saudi Arabia before the beginning of al-Haj season this year. The visit of the Iranian president will come at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz.
The Iranian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Muhammad Rida Nouri, said in a statement to the Saudi daily al-Riyadh published on Tuesday that President Khatami's visit to Saudi Arabia come as an assertion from the Iranian side on Iran's keenness to develop relations with Saudi Arabia and other Arab Gulf states.
