Israeli attack hits Lebanese infrastructure cutting off electricity

Israeli occupation forces on Monday bombarded several towns in the western and central sectors of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli bombardment centered on the Hasbaya and Marjyoun districts.

The sources added that the areas of Hasbaya and Marjyoun spent Sunday night without electricity due to the Israeli attack, which resulted in destroying electricity wires in Zalaya which feed the areas.

Meanwhile, one Lebanese resistance group attacked, using rockets, on Monday afternoon an Israeli position in Beaufort in the occupied part of south Lebanon. Direct hits were achieved against the position.

In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said that another resistance group attacked, using mortars, an occupation unit in the al-Salaa position in the middle sector of south Lebanon, inflicting fatalities on the enemy position.

The statement added that a third Lebanese resistance group attacked an Israeli position in Zamraya inflicting damage on the Israeli position.

Further reports said that Israeli occupation forces have taken a new step against Lebanese fishermen by erecting radar dishes inside Lebanon's territorial waters in order to obtain them and prevent them from fishing.

Lebanese fishermen from Tyre told the AFP that the dishes were erected on floating balloons and barrels off the Tyre coast. The fishermen added that the Israeli naval forces want to strengthen the siege on fishermen, who were able to breach the siege during the night to earn their living.

It is to be noted that the partial naval siege started in 1993 and scores of Lebanese fishermen have been exposed to Israeli fire from frigates patrolling Lebanon's southern waters.
