Komura, Netanyahu discuss Middle East peace process
Israel-Japan, Politics, 1/12/1999

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed on Monday with Japanese Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura the Middle East peace process. Following the meeting, Netanyahu said that relations between the two sides are firm, especially in the industrial and commercial fields. Israeli radio noted that the Japanese official will continue his meetings with Israeli officials concluding his tour of the region.

Following his meeting with Netanyahu and Israeli Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon in occupied Jerusalem on Monday, Komura called upon Sharon to return to talks with Syria and to take into account what had been taking place in previous talks under the Israeli Labor Party government.

Komura also called on Israeli leaders to implement the Wye agreement unconditionally with the Palestinian government.
