Morocco - Egypt business council meets next month in Casablanca
Morocco-Egypt, Economics, 1/11/1999

The Morocco-Egypt business council will hold its first annual session during the first week of next February in the Moroccan economic capital of Casablanca, Head of the Egyptian businessmen association, Said Taouil, announced.

The session will examine means to increase trade exchanges and boost the efforts towards the ratification of the free-exchange area accord, concluded last May between Morocco and Egypt, Taouil told the Cairo-based press.

The Moroccan and Egyptian businessmen will study means to lower the obstacles hindering maritime transport between the two countries, he said.

For his part, Taher Sharif, Secretary of the Egyptian businessmen association, said issues related to joint ventures, problems hindering the creation of Moroccan-Egyptian firms and ways to upgrade cooperation in tourism and agricultures will also be discussed during the Casablanca meeting.

The Morocco-Egypt business council will submit recommendations to the bilateral economic commission, which will hold its coming session in Morocco.

The council was set up during the meeting of the Moroccan-Egyptian economic commission, held last May in Cairo under the chairmanship of King Hassan II and President Husni Mubarak.
