France extends new credit line to Morocco

France has extended Morocco a new credit line to purchase 500,000 tonnes of soft wheat from France, the French embassy in Morocco said. The credit line, whose amount was not disclosed, is destined to meet Morocco's urgent needs, the embassy said in a release. It added that the line will be accessible to private operators who import soft wheat from France.
France is currently Morocco's first soft wheat supplier. Some 700,000 tonnes of the cereal have been ordered in France since the beginning of the 1998-99 agricultural season.
