Moussa to meet with Sharon tomorrow for the first time
Egypt-Israel, Politics, 1/9/1999
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa is heading tomorrow to Israel to participate in a conference regarding peace in Tel Aviv. On the margin of his participation, he will meet his Israeli counterpart, Ariel Sharon.
Egyptian sources said that the meeting will take place tomorrow following Sharon's return from the United States and that this will be the first time the two officials will have met since Sharon was appointed as foreign minister.
The sources confirmed that Moussa and Sharon's meeting will tackle the developments on the Palestinian track in light of the Israeli refusal to implement the second stage of redeployment in the West Bank according to the Wye River accord.
Former Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Khalil will also participate in the conference as well as writer Mostafa El-Kholi, Ambassador Sabah Bassyouni and Abd el-Monem who are all members of Cairo Association for Peace.
