Sanaa: U.S-British investigators to inform on Yemeni investigation only
Yemen, Politics, 1/8/1999

Yemen has stated that investigators from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation and from the British police came to Sanaa only to learn about the outcomes of Yemeni interrogations on an incident in which 16 Western tourists were kidnapped and four were killed.

Yemeni Foreign Minister Hussein Mohammed Arab has denied that the US and British investigators have taken any part in the interrogations, saying they were only advisor and chancellors.

Yemen sources said to ArabicNews.com that the investigators asked the Yemeni authorities to clarify some Yemeni security affairs which have nothing to do with the kidnapping incident, adding that Yemen considered this request as exceeding the limits of the two groups' missions in Sanaa.
