Total agricultural investments in Tunisia on the increase

The total volume of the investments in the Tunisian agricultural sector increased during last year to reach 208.49 million Tunisian dinars in comparison to 159 million dinars for 1997.

A governmental economic report, a copy of which was obtained by ArabicNews.com stated that the private sector's share reached 114.08 million Tunisian dinars, 86.664 million dinars were from Tunisian companies, and cooperative societies contibuted 7 million Tunisian dinars.

The report also said that these investments are directed toward financing 3,904 projects that will provide 4,900 new job opportunities.
