French, German officials in Amman

Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdul Illahj al-Khatib on Thursday held detailed talks with two high ranking officials at the German and French Foreign ministries concerning peace in the Middle East and means of strengthening bilateral relations between each of Berlin and Paris.

Al-Khatib received from the director of the Near and Middle East department at the German foreign ministry Andreas Von Husle a message from his German counterpart Joschka Fischer relating to means of strengthening " bilateral relations and conditions in the region," The Jordanian news agency Petra reported. Fischer will visit Jordan in February.

Al-Khatib also held similar talks with deputy director of the Middle East department at the French Foreign Ministry Steven Gumber concerning to " peace process developments, conditions in the Middle East and ways of fostering bilateral relations."
