Two Israeli soldiers wounded in south Lebanon

Israeli military sources on Wednesday stated that one Israeli soldier was seriously wounded in an attack by explosives carried out by Lebanese resistance forces in the occupied part of south Lebanon.

The Israeli sources said the explosion, which took place in an Israeli armored vehicle, resulted in wounding the soldier who was admitted to a hospital inside Israel for treatment.

Lebanese security sources said in earlier reports that two Israeli soldiers were wounded in the explosion.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese resistance has announced it attacked a joint Israeli - South Lebanon Army militia armored vehicle on the road between Arnoun and Shaqif castle in the occupied part of south Lebanon and stressed that direct hits were scored against the soldiers who manned the patrol.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes continued their violation of Lebanese airspace. On Wednesday the Israeli jets broke the sound barrier over the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Simultaneously, Israeli occupation forces shelled with heavy artillery several areas in south Lebanon.

In this context, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday presided over a meeting for the Israeli mini cabinet for political and military affairs during which the participants in the meeting were briefed on reports submitted by Israeli army leaders on military conditions in the West Bank and south Lebanon.

Leaders of the Israeli army gave details about the operations during which the Israeli soldier was wounded in south Lebanon and shots fired on an Israeli car in Hebron, wounding two Israeli settlers.

Israeli radio reported that the meeting of the mini Israeli Cabinet was intended to complete discussions concerning conditions in south Lebanon.
