Some $150 million invested in film shooting in Morocco in 1996-97

Some $ 150 million were invested in the shooting of 803 films in Morocco between 1996 and 1997, the Moroccan cinematographic center said.
The 566 foreign films shot in Morocco in 1996-97 brought to Morocco $ 100 million. The films include feature and short movies (cinema and video), ads and clips.
The center imputes the flourishing of the movie industry to the easing of administrative procedures and other assistance granted to producers including reduction of air fares, lowering obstacles on importing faked arms and reducing customs duties on imported cinematographic equipment.
The increase in foreign film production in Morocco contributed to enhancing the competencies of Moroccan artists and technicians, the center said.
