Turkish iron companies dump the Egyptian market
Egypt, Economics, 1/6/1999
The department of combating dumping issues affiliated to the Egyptian Ministry of Trade, is currently investigating a complaint lodged by Egyptian companies against Turkish companies that export iron products to the Arab markets, claiming that these Turkish companies are deliberately dumping their products in Egyptian markets, threatening the Egyptian national industry which mainly depends on exports to Arab markets. Sources stated the anti-dumping department in Egypt is expected to impose compensation duties valued at 20% on Turkish imports of iron in case this claim proves to be correct.
