Egyptian minister of agriculture defends technology - sharing with Israel
Egypt-Israel, Politics, 1/6/1999
Egypt's deputy prime minister and minister of agriculture, Youssef Wali, defended benefiting from Israel technology in agriculture to help develop his country's productivity.
Wali said "I defend benefiting from this technology as long as it is in our interest, as Israel leads the world's countries in producing long staple cotton and uses drop-irrigation (water drops) in planting it."
Wali denied the accusations directed by opposition newspapers against him, claiming that he is of Jewish origin.
