Iraq: confrontation between Iraqi, US warplanes

An Iraqi military source said on Tuesday that a confrontation took place between Iraqi and American warplanes. The Iraqi source said that their planes returned safely to their base.
Meantime, US military sources stressed news of the confrontation, adding that the US jets fired missiles at Iraqi jet fighters which entered the no-fly zone over southern Iraq.
Spokesman for the US military central command in Florida said that the Iraqi planes violated the no-fly zone area in southern Iraq and the US jets retaliated properly because, "The no-fly zone will be honored, and we are determined to honor it."
