Israel army oficial: Withdrawal from south Lebanon a top priority
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 1/6/1999

The Israeli Army's coordinator in the occupied part of south Lebanon, Uri Lubrani said that the question of the Israeli withdrawal from South Lebanon is today one of the top priorities in Israel.

He added this question will be in the "limelight of the current election campaign," claiming this matter can be only settled only after the formation of the new Israeli Cabinet.

In a statement to the French magazine "Marian" published in its recent issue, Lubrani called for the continuation of what he called "the security mission" and for ensuring a normal life for the Israelis in the north.

Lubrani admitted that only six Israeli civilians have been killed as a result of Lebanese resistance strikes since January 1985. He stressed that 220 Israeli soldiers and 380 members of Israeli-allied militias were also killed during resistance operations in south Lebanon.
