Two million tourists visited Morocco in 1998

Morocco drained in 1998 about two million foreign tourists earning the country around $ 164 million, representing a 20 percent increase compared to the returns posted last year.
In a statement carried lately by "Al-Ittihad Al-Ichtiraki" daily, Moroccan tourism minister, Hassan Sebbar, said his department has set an ambitious program to receive more than 3 million tourists by 2003 bringing the country around $ 200 Mln.
He also affirmed that the tourism sector has created in 1998 about 600,000 direct or indirect jobs.
