Arab interior ministers' meeting is to be held at end of January
Regional, Politics, 1/4/1999

For the first time the Jordanian capital Amman is going to host the meetings of the 16th session of Arab interior ministers, where Egyptian Minister of Interior Habib El-Adli is going to chair his country's delegation to the meetings.

Official security sources in Cairo said that the conference intends to deal with a number of ideas, such as setting up a draft agreement for combating organized crime and the general framework for security and judicial cooperation between the Arab states.

The security sources said organized crime has become very dangerous across Arab states' borders due to the complexity of these organizations, which carry out crimes related to drugs, foreign currency, bribery, money laundering, illegal arms merchandise, white slavery, environmental crime and transporting poisonous waste.
