Mother and her daughters casuality of Israeli attacks on Lebanese civilians

Israeli warplanes on Sunday attacked civilian areas in eastern Lebanon, wounding six civilians, said Lebanese security sources. The sources added that the victims included a mother and four daughters.

The four raiding jets fired four missiles at the hills around the villages of Nabi Sheet and Jenta, 23 km southeast of Baalbeck, the Lebanese security sources added. The Lebanese officials said the mother, identified as Hamdah Ayyoub (60), was wounded during the raid on Jenta. Her daughters, ranging in age from 20 to 45, were badly hurt, the official continued.

The officials said that a man was wounded in the same raid, the second Israeli attack of Jenta village in less than two weeks. On December 22, Israeli jets struck civilian areas in eastern Lebanon, killing a Lebanese woman and six of her children.

On Saturday, Lebanese resistance group attacked an Israeli patrol along Sujoud al-Rayhan road. In a statement, the resistance said the group used rockets and machine-guns against the mechanized patrol whose members were directly hit.

The statement added that another resistance group attacked the military position in Sujoud and prevented Israeli soldiers from intervening to assist the patrol. On Friday night the Lebanese resistance attacked the same position using heavy weapons. In a statement released on Saturday the resistance men said its men attacked the position after spotting movements of military vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces continued to attacks areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said Israeli heavy artillery shelled the woods of Sujoud and Rayhan and Aqmata farm in al-Tuffah district..
