French tourists flock to Egypt as tourism sector revitalizes
Egypt, Economics, 1/2/1999

More than 20,000 French tourists visited Egypt during the second half of last December to spend their end of the year vacations and Christmas at different tourists spots in Egypt.

This is seen as a new phenomena and a revival in the Egyptian tourism market where a strong return of French tourists is yet another confirmation of the confidence internal visitors are placing in Egypt and its tourist attractions.

Egyptian Minister of Tourism Mandouh El-Beltagi said in special statements to ArabicNews.com that, "The international community assures its trust in Egyptian tourism in spite of all the local and international studies that stated that tourism in Egypt will return after three years as a result of the Luxor incident one year ago."

This positive news follows another recent announcement by Japan expressing that Egypt is a safe place for tourism.
