Candidate in Algerian presidential elections confers with Democratic National Assembly party leaders

Official Algerian political sources stated that a meeting took place between Abdul Aziz Boutaflika and leaders in the Democratic National Assembly party -- one of the biggest Algerian parties -- to obtain the party's support for his candidacy in the early presidential elections to be held in Algeria.
Boutaflika, who served as Algerian prime minister in the 1970s, obtained recommendations from the National Liberation Front and the Islamic Renaissance Party for running in the coming elections.
