Lebanese President condemns Israeli killings

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud has asserted the cohesion between the Syrian and Lebanese peace tracks as well as the strong ties between the "two sisterly countries."

In a Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday in Beirut, the Lebanese President condemned the acts carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in Lebanon, especially the bombardment of a civilian family in Jenta town in the central sector of the western Bekaa.

Lahoud underlined the importance of a united Lebanese national position and reiterated the Lebanese national resistance's unequivocal right to defend all Lebanon and liberate the south from the Israeli occupation.

For his part, Lebanese Premier Salim al-Hoss reasserted Syrian-Lebanese peace tracks' unity and denounced the Israeli practices. The Lebanese premier added, "Israeli attacks will not change Lebanon's firm stances towards Israel's total and unconditional withdrawal from all Lebanese territories."
