US maintains no-fly zone position
Iraq-USA, Politics, 12/30/1998
The US intends to continue to patrol northern and southern Iraqi no-fly zones, US National Security Council spokesman David Leavy reiterated, after the second clash between Iraqi anti-aircraft sites and US war planes.
Leavy added that US President Bill Clinton spoke by telephone with Russian President Boris Yeltsin and the two explained their differing positions on Iraq to one another.
