Lahoud stresses cohesion of Syrian-Lebanese tracks

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud has asserted the unity of the Syrian and Lebanese tracks at the peace talks, the rights of the Lebanese resistance and support for the people's steadfastness in south Lebanon and the western Bekaa.

During his meeting Tuesday with the delegation representing the Lebanese Journalists Union, President Lahoud confirmed that the current political developments in the occupied lands intensifies Lebanon's commitment to its principles.

For his part, the Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss said the withdrawal of the pro-Israeli South Lebanon Army militia from certain positions in Jezzine district was not significant or enough.

In a statement the Lebanese premier made on Tuesday, he added that Lebanon calls for immediate and unconditional withdrawal from south Lebanon, according to UN resolution 425.
