Palestinian president aspires to meet with Clinton
Palestine-USA, Politics, 12/29/1998
A Palestinian source stated that there are current communications with the US to convene a meeting between Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and US President Bill Clinton at the beginning of 1999 to demand a decisive attitude toward Israel in the implementation of the agreements signed with the Palestinian side.
The source said the call for a meeting comes within the light of a wide political and diplomatic campaign undertaken by Palestine to confront the dangers of the stumbling of the peace process due to the policies of the Israeli government.
The sources added that the Palestinians will ask that Washington take a decisive stance to face the negligence of the Israeli government toward international law and signed agreements.
